Service: Acts of Loving-Kindness
Service: Acts of Loving-Kindness
Loving-kindness, as defined by My Jewish Learning, "is used to describe everything from the work done by synagogue bikur holim committees [that visit the sick] to service projects designed for high school students to lessons on how to treat a homeless person you pass on the street."
We provide our members with opportunities to perform acts of loving-kindness for congregants, for the Austin community, and for the greater world-for Jews and non-Jews alike. We promote social justice and tzedakah through programs that support Israel, feed the hungry, house the homeless, care for the sick, comfort the bereaved, and advocate for the marginalized in our society.
