This is a two-year course, with year one focusing on God, humanity and the Jewish people and year two focusing on Modern Zionism.
Goals:
-
To spark positive Jewish identity.

To create Jewish friendships.

To reflect on their own identity as Jews.

To explore students’ concepts of God, and how has our views change through our lives.

To explore what it means to be made B’tzelem Elohim.

To explore how as liberal Jews who value religious autonomy, how do the concepts of “covenant”, brit, and “commandment”, mitzvah, relevant to us.

To explore what it means to have a progressive religious relationship with Israel.
Additional Opportunities:
- Mitzvapalooza! A day of families giving back to our community together.
- Work and be a mentor to our younger students in our Hadracha Program.
- Travel to Washington D.C. for the L'taken Social Justice Seminar.
- 10th Graders are invited to participate in our Confirmation Ceremony.
- TABSY (Temple Youth Group) events.
- Participating in a larger Jewish Youth Group like NFTY or BBYO.
- Sing in the Kol Hakavod Choir.
