Feel right at home at Temple Beth Shalom on First Fridays! Come participate in a comfortable, casual, and community-connecting intergenerational evening on the first Friday of each month that will fill you spiritually, musically, and physically.
On most First Fridays, the Erev Shabbat service will begin at 6:15pm, followed by a communal dinner (RSVP required) at 7:00pm. The meals on First Fridays will rotate between different kosher-style dinners each month, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. No meals will contain nuts. The price for dinner is $7 a person (4 years old and up), with a $25 cap per family. Kids 3 years and under eat for free.
So we can plan food accordingly, the deadline to RSVP for First Friday dinners is the Wednesday before the Friday night dinner. Didn’t RSVP but still want to come to the dinner? No worries! Bring your own meal from home and join us in the Social Hall.
In 2017, the months of June, July, and August will be a "Bring-Your-Own-Picnic" First Friday Dinner instead of a Temple-catered meal. Temple-catered First Friday communal dinners will start back up September 2017.
There’s also a Tot Shabbat service at 5:30pm before the Erev Shabbat service. Families attending the Tot Shabbat service will be invited to stay upstairs and enjoy a small oneg or join the service downstairs before heading to dinner.
