SMC: The annual SMC is based on the temple’s expenses divided by the number of member family units. We are an inclusive community, and no one is denied membership because of financial circumstances. Congregants may also commit to the temple at a higher level. The annual SMC form describes these commitment levels, as well as convenient payment options.

Religious School, Hebrew School, and B'nai Mitzvah Fee Calculator: Youth enrolled in Religious School and/or Hebrew School pay a fee. Educating our youth to ensure the future of the Jewish people is among the highest of our Temple priorities. The cost to educate each student is approximately $850. This year the congregation will be able to contribute 70% of the cost of school for the over 400 anticipated students. The congregation’s contribution and the education fee enables us to remain true to our values while maintaining our fiscal responsibility to our community.

BFC: After 13 years as a “virtual” congregation renting space on the Dell Jewish Community Campus, Temple Beth Shalom opened its beautiful new home in December of 2013. A spiritual home is more than a simple edifice; it is a communal commitment on the part of the temple family. While the building is complete, our campaign to fully fund this $8.5 million project is not. New congregants (or congregants who have not yet entered the Building Fund Commitement) are asked to enter into a BFC that will take effect in the fifth month of membership. The BFC is calculated at 3x the annual Shared Membership Commitment (SMC), and is payable over 5 years.

Brotherhood Membership Form: Required annually by Brotherhood members. Please see the Brotherhood community page for more details.

New Member Application: The New Member Application form collects contact and family information for all members joining the congregation. Member Interest Profile: Completing the online Member Interest Profile allows for clergy and staff to best connect new members with the programs and opportunities most of interest to you. It also allows for the temple to connect you with people with similar passions and interests, and causes that are meaningful to you.
